Interactions with Healthcare Professionals
At Insmed, we often communicate with healthcare professionals (HCPs) to share information about our therapies and related disease states. Our goal is to ensure that these individuals have accurate, up-to-date information so they can make the best decisions for their patients.
Everyone at Insmed has a shared purpose to serve patients. Though our mission is the same, different functions interact with HCPs in different ways, and there is often a need to keep these interactions distinct. Regardless of our role, it’s critically important that we comply with the rules, regulations, and industry standards for how we interact with HCPs. Our internal policies and guidelines help us ensure that the right people are involved in the right activities at the right time.
How we do it
- We make sure employees know the rules and regulations that apply to our interactions with HCPs and comply with them at all times.
- We communicate with HCPs only to share complete and accurate information about our products.
- We never attempt to sway an HCP’s independent medical judgment for Insmed’s (or an employee’s own personal) benefit.
- We never promote unapproved or investigational uses of products.
- We comply with rules around scientific exchange for any off-label communication.
- We have rigorous policies and processes in place to ensure materials and communications directed at HCPs are truthful, fair, balanced, and supported by approved labeling or appropriate data.
- We comply with the many industry codes, laws, and regulations that prohibit or restrict the exchange of gifts and entertainment between our employees and the HCPs with whom we work.
